Flower Hill Farm Retreat's STUDIO is one large room (18'+x14'+) very private and airy. There is an east facing wall of sliding glass doors that gives the feeling of being outdoors. Sunrise and sunset reflections are beautiful and there is a large view of stars and moon. Imagine the classic New England farmhouse, summer kitchen and barn. The Studio was in former days the summer kitchen located between old farmhouse and barn attaching all three, while offering complete privacy and quiet.
A unique short-term stay while you seek permanent lodging in the area or visiting family or special time to write or work on an art project. We are five mins from Snow Farm. Most suited for a quiet single guest.
Snowshoe right out your front door and explore the 21 acres of gardens, fields and forest. A wide open sky spreads over the peaceful landscape offering vibrant sunrise and sunset paintings. Moonrises fill the sky and sail over the Eco-Friendly, 1790 Farmhouse, lighting up giant trees and meandering paths through plantings of flowering trees and plants, blueberries, fields, and forest.
This hillside paradise is a garden gone wild with a diverse and magical wildlife habitat which includes over fifty species of butterflies and seventy-five species of birds (encountered by this resident mammal.) A forest with vernal rivulets and a spring within wonderful old trees. Peaceful and inspiring.
A perfect place for those seeking a quiet, restorative, relaxing time-out or a work retreat in nature just outside Northampton, Massachusetts. As you enter through your private front door entrance into the studio you take off your shoes and leave the outside world behind. A clawfoot tub is out in the room with a wand but no stand up shower. We do not wear shoes inside. Be sure to pack your slippers. Thank you.
There is a rocking chair to relax in and look out your wall of glass. For the artist/writer there is a drawing table which can also work as a desk. A 'Berkeley Ergonomic' organic queen bed offers a comfortable nights sleep. There is a small round table and 2 chairs for vegetarian dining with enough cutlery and dishes on hand.
There is also a refrigerator, an electric kettle and french coffee press. There is a small space for cooking—a portable birch deep kitchen counter with a few small pots and pans, duo hot plate and toaster oven for mostly quick light vegetarian cooking.
For heat there is a faux wood stove - gas heater. And an air conditioner for warmer days. There is Wifi. Many guests do Zoom for work and play. Faster wifi for small fee. There are other lovely, quiet guests in the old farmhouse and the owners live on property should you need help.
We are only accepting minimum one week long stays. Our discounted Weekly rate is $850 for one guest.
Our rate tumbles to $1750.00 November thru March.
All inclusive.
MA Short Term Rental excise tax of 5.7% for 31 days or less. There is a small fee for our laundry facility and a one time $100.00 cleaning fee. (We pay a living wage to our cleaner.)
We only use fragrance free and non toxic products at our retreat and ask that you do the same. Since we do not use bleach, during Covid Times we are not providing linens. We do make exceptions for those visiting from afar and not driving.
You can walk right out your front entrance to explore the waking gardens, fields and forest. All seasons stir wonder within. In Spring the mini fall-like colors of tree blossoms then fresh new greens spreading across the landscape along with returning songbirds are intoxicating and inspiring. Summer brings lush greens, fireflies and butterflies. Fall is a riot of color and crisp air. In Winter the farm becomes a wonderland.
