Originally built in the 1940's, this historic home was where the proprietors of the local grocery store lived with their family for many years. After an extensive top-down renovation, we are happy to reintroduce this slice of Boulder history to the Whittier neighborhood.
The renovation included new HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and insulation. Slate bathroom floor with radiant heat, glassed-in rainshower, super quiet Bosch dishwasher, high efficiency Toto toilets, LG high efficiency washer/dryer, Rinnai tankless water heater, and Hansgrohe fixtures throughout. There is also a gas stove in the living room, where there is a 43" wall mounted smart TV and gigabit internet.
The home is finished with an eclectic mix of new and old furniture, finishes, fixtures, and art. The design was inspired by a variety of places we have experienced over the years: mountain huts in the Swiss Alps, lake cabins in Northern Michigan, summer camp bunkhouses in Minnesota. There is no drywall in The Pinehouse. It’s all wood.
It’s located on a quiet residential street with east, no-permit required all day parking in downtown Boulder. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to the shops, cafes, and restaurants of Pearl Street, with several major bike lanes that head in all directions. Its proximity to town makes it very easy to get by without a car.
